Around Christmas day I went to yogyakarta(Jogja). It took 22 hours from Bogor to Jogja because of long distance(about 400km) and macet(traffic jam)..I have to thank my friends driving much. In Jogja, I ate nasi garing(traditional food in central Jawa), went to sea and went to some historical places including Borobudur(one of the World Heritage in Indonesia). In jogja there are no angkot(not like Bogor) and many becak(人力車) and delman(馬車), and I felt it's like different country from Bogor. Borobudur was magnificent and I felt It deserves World Heritage. There were over 2500 of relieves and stories about the Buddha were depicted on some of them. In Jogja also there were much traffic jam but I could enjoy much.

Saung Angklung Udjo
Hi everyone, I'm Kentaro in bogor.
It has been already 2 months since I came here.
I feel the time has passed too fast in this a month.
I think it means I spent good time here.
On last weekend, I went to see "Saung Angklung Udjo". As Indonesian students know, Angklung is traditional instrument in Sunda(west of Jawa) made from bamboo. They performed traditional music and dance with angklung. I was surprised that casts were almost all children. it was soo fun ,so I bought angklung..haha

My study started in IPB
Hi everyone!
As I said last time, I started my research from middle of November.
This time I show u some parts of my research.
My major is soil science and mainly I measure soil prooerty and CO2 flux at glassland in IPB.
As some of you know, the method to measure CO2 gas is the closed chamber method. I can find out the increase of CO2 from soil by putting chamber on the ground and collecting gas inside chamber before capping and after some time passing.
I have 4 sites in IPB and I conduct sampling twice a week.

Self introduction ~I'm in Indonesia~
Hello all of PARE students!
My name is Kentaro Okura. Everyone call me Kentaro, Kenta or Taro.
Im from soil science lab. in Hokkaido university and it has been a week since I arrived at Bogor. I belong to soil science lab. in bogor agricultural university(IPB).
It is hot for me here, so I hope I become accustomed to tropical climate sooner. I already tried to eat some indonesian food, for example soto, sate ayam, martabak, tempe, nasigoren, rendang etc... from now on, I wanna try different foods. And I study bahasa indonesia hard because I feel I can't live without bahasa. Anyway I need to be accustomed to everything indonesian.
See you next time
